Watty

We had data collected from the solar panels of many homes: the task was to build software on top of it that families would actually use.

Watty: a dashboard showing how much energy you produce, a planner that starts home appliances (home automation) during sunny hours, and a game side that rewards the greenest households.

• Dashboard on solar panel production data
• Home automation planner: washing machine, dishwasher and other appliances start when there's the most sun
• Scorecard with points for using your own energy well
• Leaderboard among neighbours for some healthy competition
• One-click automatic scheduling, weekly challenges and badges to unlock

Third place at the hackathon (February 2026).
